Recent NOTD's March 2012

I found these photos of NOTD's from the last couple of weeks on my iphone today, so thought I'd share!
I used a blue 17 nail polish and used the Models Own Wah Nails Nail Art pens to do the panda detailing.
I used a pink Rimmel nail polish and the Models Own Wah Nails Nail Art Pens to do the black and white details. I then used a Barry M green nail polish over the edging to finish them off!

Ring Ring!

A couple of weeks ago, Lou kindly offered to send me one of her rings that she had made.
How gorgeous is it?!

You can see Lou's blog here - she's lovely and very creative! :)

Trip to Liverpool March 2012

Last Monday, my Mum & I took a little trip over to Liverpool.
We were really lucky as the weather had been really pleasant!
Mum had got a Groupon voucher for one of the Days Inn Hotels in the city centre so we had an overnight stay. The hotel was actually really nice, clean and quiet (considering we were in the centre and right next door to the train station!)
I really liked the bathroom but couldn't get a decent picture so here's one of the sink...
My mind was totally blown by the mini TV screens in the beer pumps so I took a photo and sent it to Mr Pinklittlebean who told me I was out of touch as they're all over the place now... Sigh!
I liked this pubs sign...!
Mum and I fancied going somewhere for a drink and ended up in the Hard Days Night Hotel to do the touristy thing but we looked at the drinks menu and it was awesome so stayed for a couple!
Daq in the USSR

Havana Club Especial, Lime and Gingerbread Syrup shaken and served in a Vanilla Sugar rimmed glass.

I chose this as my first drink and it was AMAZING! I wanted to drink it forever...
Hendricks Riff

Lashings of Hendricks Gin mixed together with Chase Elderflower Liqueur, Fresh Cucumber and Fresh Pressed Apple Juice.

I decided to try something different for my second drink, so went for this as it had gin in and it didn't disappoint! It was really refreshing!
Jubbly Bubbly

Skyy Passion Fruit Vodka, Raspberry Liqueur, Fresh Lemon Juice and Sugar Syrup. Served over crushed ice and topped up with Prosecco and a Seasonal Fruit Garnish.

Mum chose this as her first drink, it was lovely bubbly and fruity!
Yellow Matter Custard

Hibiscus Flowers, Vanilla Schnapps, Rhubarb Liqueur and Hibiscus Syrup mixed together and poured gently with Sparkling Wine.

For Mums second drink she chose this. It really did taste of rhubarb and custard!
Some of the hotels posters.
I got excited as we spotted a few of the SuperLambBananas instantly! I visited my friend Claire in Liverpool several years ago and we ended up on a mini mission to find the huge SuperLambBanana....
I think that they look awesome!
After these three I only spotted another one that was silver, outside of a jewellers. I think I need to investigate where they all are!
Later that day, we went for afternoon tea with another Groupon voucher Mum had got for Franklins Deli.
We got a really nice selection of food and the girls asked if we had any preferences which was great as I don't eat meat and don't like egg either (I am a total fusspot to be honest!) So they catered for us brilliantly!
Yummy sandwiches!
Tea and fizz! :)

We spent the rest of the day shopping and had a trip to IKEA on the way home. I had a lovely time and can't wait to go back!

Mini Round Up 25/03/12

This past few weeks I've been quite busy! Here's a mini round up of photos I've taken on my iphone that don't really fit in with all of the other posts I've done...

(I've also done a round up of food porn as I've done a lot of eating, so it deserved its own dedicated post!)
I finally caved in and got my first phone contract and got an iphone... I've been messing about with some of the photography apps that are available. Here's a mini panoramic view of my room!
I went to Hyper Japan last month in London (my Hyper Japan blog post is here). I loved this hat (and completely regret not buying it now!)
It was such a gorgeous day while I was in London, I took this quick photo - look how bright the sky is!
This picture on the Underground really tickled me... The dog looks like our pet Alfie!
It was my brothers birthday at the end of February (he's a leap year baby so it was his "6th" birthday!)

My cousin, Jane, put a couple of pictures up on Facebook, including this one of us all.

I'm wearing the red t-shirt.
Alfie making the most of the sunshine!
I had been poorly for a couple of weeks with some kind of viral thing. Mum bought me some supplies to make me feel better :)
I bought this Rob Ryan card in Urban Outfitters in Birmingham. I think it's so sweet and the cut out detail is so clever. I'm going to get it framed :)
Mum and Dad went out on Friday night to see the Stranglers and I was left in charge of Alfie. He gets a bit anxious so I had him up in my room so he had some company. He wouldn't stop sniffing my laptop!!

Boux Avenue Store Opening at The Bullring, Birmingham

On Thursday morning I travelled over to Birmingham for the new Boux Avenue store launch.

I had heard of the brand before but had never bought anything from them. I've recently had a major overhaul of my underwear drawer so couldn't wait to see what they had to offer!

Before the official cutting of the ribbon by owner Theo Paphitis, we were allowed a glimpse inside of the new store.

When I arrived, I was greeted at the luxurious looking doors and walked through to a beautifully laid out boudoir style store.

The shop is laid out just perfectly. There is no rummaging through unorganised rails to find your size. Things are laid out in clearly labelled drawers, with a selection of goods hanging up for you to peruse.
The staff in the store were all so genuinely helpful and seemed that they would go out of their way to make sure that the visit was as easy and comfortable as possible.
Beautifully laid out and fabulous lighting.
I loved this classic style bra. The thing I was most pleasently surprised about was the price of the items in the store, with bras starting from £12.
There is a huge selection of items to choose from.
There was a lovely selection of bright and colourful bras.

The range of underwear in the store seemed to cater for everyone. From basics to luxurious, right through to wedding lingerie.

There is a ample range in their sizing too (up to a G cup).
More of the gorgeous underwear.
I had my eyes on these 50s style bikinis from the moment I stepped in the shop and couldn't wait to try some on later in the day!
There was a brilliant selection of swimwear in the shop. If you have a holiday planned you are spoilt for choice!
Funky pjs!
I adored how the accessories were displayed on the mannequin and in the vintage style suitcase.

I am a little obsessed with vintage suitcases, I have 2 that I keep my handbags in and would love to find some more for storage.
The store had a lovely selection of gifts and accessories, so perfect if you are picking up a present for someone.
Myself and the lovely Emily of Emily-Jayne and Emma of Fashion Mommy's Blog

We were given a really generous goodie bag which included a gift card so everyone could choose something they liked.
The opening drew a really big crowd!
Mr Paphitis opening the shop!
Cute sweetie!
I was told that I HAD to check out the changing rooms, so later on in the day I went back and tried on a couple of things that I had eyed up earlier.

The changing room was so luxurious, it felt like I was in a hotel suite!

I loved that it had a door rather than a curtain. I think my worse shopping nightmare is someone opening the curtain while I'm trying on underwear!
Another well thought out design in the changing rooms was the intercom system, to save any blushes trying to get the attention of one of the sales assistants. There is also an ingenius lighting option for the changing room too!
I decided against the bikini as at the moment I don't really have the bod for it and tried on the swimsuit in the same style instead. I used my gift card that I was given towards it.

The 50s style is so "me" - I'm planning on visiting my friend in the Cayman Islands soon, so can't wait to wear it!

This is what the swimsuit looks like on! (I didn't want to scare you off with a picture of me in it!!)

I will definitely be checking out the shop at Meadowhall and I now have a (rather long!) wish list of things that I would like to buy from Boux Avenue!

Here are a few things that I have my eye on...

Chloe Lace Longline Bra

I really like the style of this bra. They haven't got my size at the moment online but I'm going to have a look at the shop in Meadowhall!

This is just so pretty!

I love the high waisted style knickers, they give a real classic look!

I think this gorgeous chemise would be a total upgrade from my current old band t-shirt and shorts combo I wear to bed!
I spent the rest of the afternoon in Birmingham and had a look around the shops. We stopped and had lunch in Pret. I have found my new favourite sandwich! I wish there was a Pret in Sheffield!!

Thank you to Laura Gallagher of Fluorescent PR and Emma Roberts of The Bullring for a fabulous morning!
