Food Porn - April 2012 Edition

Veggie Chili in Swanky Franks, Sheffield.

We went to Swanky Franks a few weeks ago for Mr Pinklittlebeans nieces birthday. It was good fun for the kids. My chili was nice but I was a little disappointed by the garlic bread :(
Iced Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks.

Solved the problem of wanting a coffee AND a cold drink!
All you can eat buffet from Red Hot Buffet in Leeds.

I met my friend Claire in Leeds a few weekends back and we headed to Red Hot Buffet for our lunch. It's got a massive selection to choose from. I was happy with my paneer and pizza!
All you can eat desserts from Red Hot Buffet in Leeds.

I love the dessert area in Red Hot Buffet! Tiny portions of pud so you can have a bit of everything! :)
Sushi from Sakushi in Sheffield.

I met my friend Corry for sushi and wine a couple of weeks ago. We'd spied a groupon type voucher so took advantage of it :) I tried to be a bit adventurous!
Crayfish and Avocado Salad with Mango Dressing.

I don't usually like dressing but Mum had picked this one up and it's so nice - it's such a good combination :)
Tea and Teacakes from TJ Hughes in Sheffield.

I had a bit of a "stressful" morning a couple of weeks ago so we stopped off for a cup of tea and somehow I felt better for it :)
"Ill Food"

I had a horrid sick bug so had a very bland/non-existent diet for a few days. Heinz tomato soup always makes me feel slightly better.
Token Hot Cross Bun.

I think this was from Tesco and it was really disappointing! Who sells the best hot cross buns?!
Easter Goodies!

My friend Alice bought me some Easter chocolates which were really cute. Mum got my brother and I some Daim Mikados (if you have not tried these yet, you are missing out!!) and some mini Malteaster Bunnies. I couldn't resist buying the new Percy in the Pinks from M&S. I love Percy!
The Food Doctor Pot.

I picked some of these up as I am a bit lazy when it comes to making food. They are actually really nice and filling! I'm going to get some more.
Marks & Spencers Super Whole Food Salad.

I went to M&S at the weekend and bought a load of stuff that I didn't need (mainly sweets). I got one of these to have for my tea. It has some of my favourite things in (edamame and cheese) so I was happy :)
St Helier Raspberry & Lime Cider.

I love cider so thought I'd like to try this. It's a bit too sweet for my liking (which is saying something as I'd quite happily eat a jar of nutella straight out of the jar with a spoon given the chance) but it was ok. It tasted more like strawberryade than anything else.
Marks & Spencers Mojito Cocktail Jelly.
I picked one of these up and a Pina Colada one for my Mum. They were rather nice! Mine was really delicate tasting (and not too boozy) and Mums tasted just like Pina Colada.
Marks & Spencers Jubilee Macaroons.

I'd heard people saying that M&S sell macaroons so went in to see if I could find some and came across these. They were on offer so I couldn't resist (and they're SHINY!!!). They were really yummy. The flavours were salted caramel, dark chocolate and praline.
Kraken Black Spiced Rum.
I had a bit of good news today that my holiday pay (from 2009/10) is finally getting paid to me at the end of this week so I went out and bought a bottle of rum to celebrate! (I'm not going to drink it all in one go, promise!) If you've not tried Kraken before, it's super yummy with apple juice and lots of ice :)

Trip to Leeds & Illamasqua Make Over - March 2012

Hope you've all had a lovely Easter Bank Holiday Weekend! :)

I've been getting over a sick bug (yuck!) and went for an MRI scan this morning. I'm feeling a bit better now though (or a bit more like I want to eat creme eggs shall we say!!)

As I mentioned, last Saturday I went for a day trip to Leeds with my friend Claire.
She'd mentioned that Illamasqua did make overs, so we booked onto one.

I've heard nothing but good things about Illamasqua but had only tried a couple of their products before, so couldn't wait to try out some more!

I had the lovely Patrick (who had come over from the Liverpool store to help out for a few days) do mine...
I didn't really have much of an idea of what "look" I wanted, so gave him free reign!

Throughout the makeover, he told me what he was doing and using and gave me tips, which were really helpful.
The final look!

Make Up Used On Face...

Face: Skin Base in Shade 07
I loved the coverage of the foundation that was used. It looked very natural and true to my skin colour in real life and wasn't too heavy (but covered blemishes!). I don't usually wear any foundation but would definitely try this again for nights out etc.

Blusher: Lover
This was a gorgeous, natural looking blusher. The pigment was incredible and a little went a long way. I will definitely be buying some to use as an everyday staple!

Eyeshadows: Pivot, Permission, Vernau, Wolf
The combination of the four shades worked just perfectly and seemed to blend seamlessly. When the bright green was applied first I was a little apprehensive but went with it and I'm glad as I was so happy with the outcome!
I loved how the green brought out the blue in my bluey/green eyes. The colour was totally different and a real change from what I usually would wear.
I thought the Human Fundamentalism display looked awesome, I loved all of the colours so couldn't resist sharing!

I'd really recommend the makeovers at Illamasqua, it was really fun and brilliant if you were looking for a different look or a nice way to spend a day out.

Claire and I wish we'd got somewhere to go out that evening! I'd definitely try it again - fingers crossed with plans to go out! :)

The staff are absolutely lovely and make you feel really welcome too (and will help you if you a little overwhelmed by it all!)

I put a little order through over Easter weekend, taking advantage of the Easter Hunt promotion they had on and now have a MASSIVE wish list of things I'd like to buy! (First thing being their highlighter brush!)

Have you tried Illamasqua before? Any recommendations?
After the trip to Illamasqua we did a bit of shopping. Judy's Vintage Fair was on, so we had a little nosey in the Corn Exchange. It was the first time I'd been in and I thought that the building was incredible!

On Saturday, I went to Leeds for the day.

This is what I wore!
Bowler Hat: Topshop
Checked Shirt: Fred Perry via ARK Clothing Sale
Black Skinny Jeans: Primark

Close up detail of the shirt - I love button down collars :)

NOTD 31/03/2012

I went to Leeds this weekend to meet my friend Claire. I'll be doing a separate post about it later today. This is how my nails looked!
Silver Nail Polish: Models Own Champagne

The glitter polish is a great dupe for OPIs Rainbow Connection (and about half the price!)
