Make Believe Self Tan Lotion Review

I have never really used fake tan before. Mainly because I'm a little bit scared of ending up looking like an Oompa Loompa and secondly because I don't really have any idea what I'm doing!

I received a bottle of Make Believe Self Tan Lotion in a goody bag at the Leeds Blogger Meet Up last month and as I had a wedding I was attending, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to test it out!

I like that the packaging is in a tube so you can control how much of the product you want to use easily.

The scent of the lotion is absolutely GORGEOUS! I could sit and smell it all day - it's not too overpowering either.

I used a mitt to apply the lotion. I didn't need to use too much and it absorbed easily into my skin. The lotion dried really quickly too.

I applied it just before bed and it didn't stain my pjs or bedsheets.
Here's a quick peek of how it looked on my arms!

I was over the moon with the outcome! I thought that it looked really natural and it wasn't patchy in any areas. I need to get the hang of application in certain areas (eg. my hands!) but I think this is due to it being the first time I've really used fake tan! I was a little worried that Zone 3 may be a little too dark for my light skin tone but it was perfect.

I would definitely use this again as it was so simple to apply and gave a natural look.

You can buy Make Believe Self Tan Lotion from these stockists and it's available to buy in Boots!

Have you got any fake tanning tips? Have you tried Make Believe products before?

Yesterday I went to Mr Pinklittlebean's sisters wedding. I had a lovely time :)

This is what I wore...

Heels: Office
I picked up the dress in the Ark sale reduced from £65 down to £19.50 :)

Butterfly/cut out detail on dress!

Initial locket from Urban Outfitters.
My heels are from Office. I managed to pick them up in the sale reduced from £65 to £17.50 :)

The heels are just the right height for me :)

I went for really simple make up! I was wearing Mac "Rebel" lipstick (my first Mac lipstick purchase!) and Topshop highlighter in "Sunbeam" :)

Personal Planner Personalised Diary

I was lucky enough to receive a voucher to use on personal-planner in my goodie bag at the Leeds Bloggers Meet Up event a few weeks ago.

I couldn't wait to use it as I'd seen other bloggers who had used them before and thought they looked great!

I started my new job last week and I really wanted to make sure I was organised as I will be working more hours than I was before.
personal-planner is a website where you can design your own planner or notebook. From the size to having your name on the front (like mine), to what month your diary begins, a personal photo on the cover, special dates to remember down to what colour elastic closure, they've got it all covered!

The attention to detail is spot on - things that often get forgotten in diaries are there in black and white!
I loved how I could edit the layout of the diary exactly how I wanted it to be, with plenty of room to write in appointments, a space to write how many hours I've worked and a little to do list at the bottom!
I chose one of the designs from the collection specially created by graphic designer and illustrator Isabelle Norman Sällström and the theme is continual throughout.
I am always writing to do lists for myself so this section is perfect for me! You can edit it accordingly to what you prefer. They even have spaces for workout plans if you are a gym bunny!
I had to include the packaging as I thought it looked really cute! :)

The order process was really straight forward and the website is so simple to use. My diary arrived in no time at all and I was really pleased with everything about it!

Hurraw! Green Tea Lip Balm Review

A few weekends ago when I was Leeds, I popped into American Apparel and when I was at the till I spotted this...
I'd never seen it before so thought I'd give it a try. There were quite a few "flavours" available but I went with green tea as it sounded a bit different to what I'd usually choose!

Here's a little bit about Hurraw! taken from their website...

"Hurraw! Balm lives in Whitefish, Montana; a tiny ski town nestled among the amazing peaks of Glacier National Park.

We started out of pure intent; a personal obsession to create the perfect balm: all natural, vegan, made from premium raw, organic and fair trade ingredients... complete with a bunch of natural and fun flavor options! It also had to meet some tough criteria...
Super smooth, not draggy, not sticky, not sweet, not too glossy, not too smelly, never grainy, long lasting; plus, it had to hold up to being in a back jeans pocket all day without melting!

It took us several obsessed years to formulate Hurraw! Balm and put it through all the rigors. We love it, use it, and hope you do too!

We hand mix and individually pour each tube of Hurraw! Balm.
We truly care about the quality and integrity of our product and feel Hurraw! is the finest all natural, vegan, raw balm available... a great product to be used by everyone regardless of lifestyle or eating habits!

Sourcing honest, fair trade, organic, vegan and raw ingredients from reputable suppliers was difficult at best.

We finally did it and we are thrilled to share the labors of our hard work with other balm lovin' individuals.

Your purchase supports legit fair trade, organic farmers and suppliers here in the States and around the World. Thank you!
Hurraw! Balm is a Certified Vegan product! 'Vegan' means no animal products (ie: beeswax) are included in our product. We are proud to also be CCIC approved.
The CCIC provides the leaping bunny logo which assures our cruelty free standards (no animals are used/harmed/tested on in any stage of the manufacture of our product, including our suppliers).

Hurraw! Balm contains certified organic, raw, cold pressed and centrifuged extracted, nut/seed oils and butters that have been processed below 118F degrees and are still chocked full of their essential nutrients and enzymes. Although more expensive, the quality of raw oils and butters is superb and you'll feel the difference!"
The lip balm definitely lived up to its claims. It's long lasting and non-greasy. The consistency is great - it's quite thick but goes on smooth and clear.

The green tea was really subtle and doesn't taste artificial like some lip balms can. I really liked the shape of the tube too. At first I thought it might be a little odd but it is the perfect shape for a lip balm!

I really like that the lip balm contains raw ingredients and is vegan friendly. I'm becoming more aware that certain products containing lots of chemicals don't necessarily help/benefit my skin/hair and have switched to ones with more natural ingredients.

I bought mine for around £3.45. I thought that it was value for money as a little goes a long way.

I would definitely repurchase this brand and although I don't think I'd ever totally stray away from Carmex, I will be keeping this in my desk drawer. I can't wait to try some of their other flavours!

You can buy them online from websites such as supersmoocher.com or have a look on Amazon or ebay!

Have you tried Hurraw! lip balm before?

What did you think?

Mini Round Up 23/09/12

Hello! :)

I've had a busy couple of weeks again with lots of change!

Here's what I've been up to...
Catching up with my friend Corry over wine and sushi!
N'aww-ing over this keyring one of her former pupils had made her! N'aww!
My last week of work at Costa/Tesco! No more 7am starts or waiting for the bus at 5:30am! Yay!

And no more of this!

The customer who left this mess wasn't that much bigger than me and in the space of about 15 minutes he ate:

A baguette, 4 kids rolls, a cheese ploughmans, 2 cheese and ham paninis, 6 scones and jam, a cookie, 2 kit kats, a muffin, a bottle of 7up and 2 bottles of pepsi.

I was in shock!
 Bye bye Wicker!
My parents went away to Ibiza on holiday and I was looking after the house/feeding the tortoise. This is Trevor!
He was a bit mardy in this picture and didn't want to come out of his shell!
 I picked this up in H&M :)
I found a box of old photographs from when I was at college! I miss having pink hair :( I had it for nearly 5 years :)
While my parents were away I was sat in my room one afternoon and my bedroom door opened... I nearly had a heart attack as I was home alone with all the doors and windows locked...

This little fella had managed to get in the house at some point and crept in!
Our dog Alfie was in kennels while Mum was away as I was going to be out of the house for 12 hours at a time so it wouldn't be fair on him to be left for so long.

Unfortunately he came back with kennel cough :( He's much better now after a trip to the vets but was feeling a bit sorry for himself when we first got him back :(
Mum got me this bracelet - I love it! :)
And a pretty bottle of beer!
I had to renew my driving license as I've now had it for 10 years! I was quite glad to update the photo as my original one was awful and I looked like a 12 year old boy in it!
I dug out a few of my old t-shirts I'd not worn in ages. I love this one, I got it when I visited Hong Kong :)
Lol-ing at keyword searches on my blog... Really? Really?!
Finally getting a picture of the Phlegm mural on the side of the RSPCA centre in Sheffield. I wanted to include this in my guide to Sheffield but got a picture of some other work by Phlegm!
I went out for my leaving do from work last Friday and got a little bit drunk. I don't that think me and Absinthe mix...
A little bit tipsy in the Great Gatsby!
I finally got my token photograph with the gold postbox in Sheffield!
We popped along to the Sheffield Food Festival last weekend for a quick peek. There were loads of bits and pieces going on and some really cool stalls. I loved the watermelon carvings on the Aagrar stand.
I had my eyes tested before I started my new job. I got some new Ray Ban glasses :)
Pretty pack lunch box! I need some inspiration for lunch ideas now!
My awesome personalised planner arrived from Personal-Planner. I've just noticed that it kind of matches my lunch box! I'll be writing about this in a little bit more detail soon but it is fab!
I started my new job on Monday. It's going great so far! There's a lot to take in but I'm really enjoying it.

This is my view on the walk to work :)
This is another view of the walk to work - so pretty! :)

As you can see, I'm now hooked on Instagram! My username is pinklittlebean - let me know if you are on there too! :)

PS. If you haven't already entered, I have a little giveaway on where you can win a pair of Topshop earrings and a bottle of Essie nail polish - you can find out more and enter here!

Food Porn - September 2012 Edition

Kellogg's Froot Loops

My Mum bought my brother and I a box of these each. I have been eating mine for tea so they've nearly all gone!
Krispy Kreme Donut

Krispy Kreme were doing a promotion where I (used to) work and were handing out donuts. They kept bringing us some in exchange for coffee. Best. Day. Ever.
Starbucks Berry Hibiscus Refresha

I quite fancied trying one of Starbucks new drinks they had out. It was a bit... meh?
Co-op Boxed Salad

I picked this up as I was really thirsty and it was only about another 50p or something silly to get the meal deal so I had it for tea. It was so nice!
Ice Cream Clam Shell

Yummmm :)
Pistachio Meringue

My brother and his girlfriend picked this up to share with us at a farmers market. I only tried a little bit but thought it looked awesome!
Tandoori Paneer and Salad

I love it when Mum makes this for tea! It's my favourite!
Mum's Home Made Veggie Chili

I also love it when Mum makes this! I took a picture before I doused it in cheese, sour cream and nachos...!!
Roysters

Jack and Hannah had left a pack of these in my room for me. Blast from the past?!

Lamcello

I picked this up in Home Bargains as a) it was pink and b) it was about 79p. I think it is actually the "girly" version of White Lightening. It was rancid. AND it wasn't pink. Pah! I really don't know what's wrong with me sometimes!!
Elderflower Cider

I also picked this up in Home Bargains. It was really nice!
Haribo

Giant cola bottle ftw!
Wetherspoons Sweet Potato Curry

Mr Pinklittlebean and I went to the curry night at Wetherspoons. I think I managed about half of it!
Peach Juice

I'll be honest. I bought this because of the bottle.
Chinese Dumplings and Miso Soup

I finally had a look in the new Chinese supermarket on West Street in Sheffield and it's amazing! I bought a packet of the veggie dumplings and they were all gone in the space of a couple of days! Definitely going back for more!
Beans On (By) Toast

I am a total fusspot when it comes to eating really... Wait, I mean everything in fact. I like my beans by my toast. Y'know, so it doesn't go soggy?!
Starbucks Strawberry Shortcake

This was delish and just the right size for a little treat! :)
Higgidy Pie and Mash

I think this was a aubergine and something or rather pie. It was rather yummy. I only managed about half of my dinner as it was a ambitious sized portion!
Skeggy Rock

One of my colleagues brought us all back some rock from her holidays :)
Gaymers Pear Cider with Cherry and Apple Flavour

This is now one of my favourite flavoured ciders! It doesn't taste too artificial like some do (I'm glad as some taste a bit like cherryade etc!) and would be really nice with a big glass of ice!
Tesco Finest Apple Chutney with Flame Roasted Tomato and Garlic

I'm not usually a chutney lover but spotted this in the fridge and have been having it on my cheese sandwiches :) It's really tangy!
Smirnoff Vanilla Vodka

I treated myself to a bottle of this as it was on offer in Tesco. I'm not usually a huge fan of spirits but it is yummmm :) I think it would be nice with some Kraken Rum in a cocktail :) (Yep, what this booze need is more booze!!) :D
